Philosopher Lao Tzu(China, 6th century
BC) also called the father of Thaoism, has given us the thought/direction
which represents the nature of leadership:
Leader is the best when people hardly know he exists,
Less better when is being listened to and approved,
Even worse when being celebrated.
Miss to appreciate the people and they wont appreciate you.
In case of a good leader, who says little
But finishes work and achives the goal, people will say:
„We did it our selves!“
According to the Oxford English Dictionary, the word “manage”
comes from the Italian maneggiare (to handle — especially
a horse), which in turn derives from the Latin manus (hand).
Manliness, courage, integrity… are some of positive characteristics
most people will notice in leaders. But, like every human
being, they also have negative characteristics like greed
or brutality. Successful leaders posses mix of wanted and
unwanted attributes, and their optimal proportion is hard
to determine.
Obvious is only that leaders can be recognized by work and
results. They often have personal and proactive attitude
towards goals defined. Leaders are not satisfied only with
reacting to events, they go toward them, creating their own
ideas.
Business objectives are determined with leader’s impact and
employees expectations, actualization of whishes and goals
placed.
Management process that is provided in accordance with certain
rules, verified principles and usage of proper techniques
is being composed of: planning, organizing, leading and valuating,
understanding of presentation and speaker techniques, team
building, conflict managing, motivation and self-management
(time management, dealing with stress, etc.).
Program model of managing that is considered as to give
the best results is based on interpersonal relations and
team managing communication model with work stimulating award
system.
As a human relation, management should be employees and
leader partner relation.
